Max Miley
Testimonials

Max has been riding and racing for 20+ years and still races in the Pro 1,2 races at the age of 45. Max races as a Category 1 on the Road, Cat 2 on the Track and as an Expert on the Mountain Bike. In the early years, Max trained and raced with Lance Armstrong on the same team. He has won 3 national titles, 10 national championship medals, 7 state championships, and 15 state championship medals. Max competed in three Olympic trials, his last one in 2000 at the age of forty. In 2003 Max finished 5th in his age group at the 24 Hour MTB Solo World Championships and in 2005 he finished 3rd in the Hotter N' Hell Road Race at the age of 45. Max is the 2007 State RR & Crit Champion for his age group. He has won over 170 races on the Road, Track and Mountain Bike and has logged over 200,000 miles on two wheels and a few more on a unicycle he rides on occasion.

Max has been certified as a USA Cycling Expert Coach, ACE Fitness- Personal Trainer and Cooper Clinic- Personal Trainer. Max is the coach for the Matrix Cycle Club. He coached Team In Training, a fund-raising program for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society North Texas Chapter, for 8 years, working with hundreds of cyclist of all levels during this time. He has taught indoor cycling classes for 10 years, being one of the first in the country to do so (before most people even knew what a spin class was). He has worked with cyclist from beginner to top professionals. While working with Bell Sports/Blackburn on a contract basis, he wrote a 35 page training manual that was included with all Blackburn resistance trainers.

Max has coached and continues to coach many bike racers. His riders have won State, National and World Championship medals, including Patrick McCarty who now rides for the Slipstream professional team.

Sam Montag

Sam has been racing as Category 1 for 20 years and has worked closely with Max Miley as a team mate, coach and training partner for many of those years. Sam knows what it takes to be a winner, he has worked with hundreds of cyclist over the years, helping them learn the sport of cycling and bicycle racing. Sam is great with all levels from beginners to advanced. He is a TNT certified coach, Spin Class instructor at RBM and Team Captain for the RBM MS 150 Team. Drew Tucker

Drew is a Texas state medalist on the track and the road. He was the Superdome (Frisco, TX) Track Cyclist of the Year in his age group for the 2005 season. He also completed the one-day 252-mile Cochise County Cycling Classic in 2005. Drew has raced since 1998 and ridden recreationally for over 10 years. Besides the track and the road, he also enjoys mountain bike and cyclocross racing. He is Head Cycling Coach of the Team In Training program for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society North Texas Chapter.

A bit of a “techno-geek”, Drew can help you make sense of the loads of data you may be collecting from your bike computer, heart rate monitor, or power meter. He will also tell you that there are times when you need to turn all that stuff off and just go ride! Whether you’re just starting out or looking to “take it to the next level”, Drew will work with you to achieve your cycling goals. His goal is to take you beyond what you might think is possible! Alan Johnson

Age: 51, Married: 27 years, with one college aged son.

2004 through 2006 – Started and managed the Richardson Bike Mart (RBM) Matrix Cycling Club Junior Race Team, taking Junior racers to Colorado, Idaho, Arizona, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Vermont and Pennsylvania to race in USA Cycling Road and Mountain Bike (NORBA) National qualifiers and National competitions.

Kyle Johnson: Two TMBRA State Championships, Six NORBA National Podium finishes,5th overall NORBA National ranking in 2005 Andrew Dahlheim: One TMBRA State Championship, Two NORBA National Time Trial wins.

Sports Background: Mid to late 1970s: Skateboarding, Won State Skateboarding Championships in Texas and Nevada, Turned Pro and skated for Vans Shoes and Bad Company Skateboards, Early to mid 1980s: Motorcycle racing - Raced Flat Track, MotoCross, Enduro and Cross Country for local Honda and Yahama motorcycle shops Won State Championship for Texas Cross Country Racing Association (TCCRA) Won 18-hour Enduro USA Preliminaries qualifying for Worlds.
Mountain Bike Racing: Began racing mountain bikes after having knee surgery in 1998
1999 – Won Texas Mountain Bike Racing Association (TMBRA) Beginner Men 40-45 Series. 2000 – Had back surgery and took off seven months for recovery and rehabilitation 2001 – Won TMBRA Sport Men 45-49 Series. 2002 – Won Nightrider 24-Hours of Rocky Hill 4-man Team. 2002 through 2007 – Began racing Expert and finished every TMBRA Series in the Top 10. 2002 through 2007 – Taught Beginner Race Clinics for Dallas Off Road Bicycle Association (DORBA)
2005 – Finished 2nd in the Expert Men 45-49 GC at the TMBRA NORBA National at Tapatio Springs.
2005 through 2007 – Finished in the Top 10 in the NORBA National rankings for my age group, Podium Finisher at five NORBA Nationals and was 4th overall in the NOBRA National rankings for my age group.
